Time is the one constant that will not stop, nor can we bring those moments back. With that thought in mind, I remember as if it were only yesterday, receiving the call to be asked to serve on the Board of Directors. The days and years have gone by quicker than I could have imagined.
Alas, this column marks my last as the President of the Public Relations Society of America’s West Virginia Chapter. I’ve learned so much, and grown professionally and personally from my experiences in PRSA-WV. Isn’t that the unique purposes of a professional organization?
The answer is yes. We are charged with enhancing the public relations professional for our members. We are charged with the continued growth of our profession by providing members with professional development and engaging our communities and businesses. As with all our endeavors I believe we have had great successes this year along with occasional learning moments.
I want to use this space to thank the PRSA-WV Officers and the Board of Directors for their dedication and support throughout the past year. Our Committee Chairs have also done a stellar job this past year.
Thank you for allowing me this fantastic and unique experience, and I look forward to doing what I can to continue to enhance the importance of public relations in West Virginia.
