President’s Notes | August 2018

“Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.”
– Edmund Burke

It’s hard to believe it’s the end of July. The year is flying by. Let’s take some time to relax and enjoy what’s left of summer by enjoying a hot dog and taking in a baseball game together. Our next meeting will be our annual “PRSA at the Park,” Aug. 15 at Appalachian Power Park. Join us for a casual evening on the Party Deck as we watch the West Virginia Power take on the Columbia Fireflies. A big thanks to our sponsor, Appalachian Power, for making this evening possible.

We have some great events planned this year beyond our August social get-together. Our yearly ethics review will be in September, along with the Day of Caring community service event, and October will take us to Morgantown for the fall professional development workshop. Watch the website and our social media channels for more information.

In addition to our upcoming local events, how many of you take advantage of the benefits available through your PRSA membership? There are webinars and workshops, discounts for car rentals to business services, enewsletters and newsletters, the national job posting network and the online community, just to name a few! I encourage you to visit the website, prsa.org, to see what’s available.

See you in August!
